In the scene when Elaine, Joan's sister, is packing up and getting ready to leave, the movie cuts to scene of kids playing in the alley. Watch the boy swinging the ball on a rope. He first twirls it figure 8 style, then starts swinging it counter clockwise. The scene cuts to Elaine getting in the car, then back to the boy who is now swinging the ball clockwise. It would take a lot of effort to halt the ball in motion and reverse it's direction!

When Elaine gets knocked out, she tosses her head back, loosing her hat. Next scene shows the boy shoving her into the passenger seat. When the camera cuts to a wide shot of the boy peeling out, the hat has disappeared.
