"The Yankees played the Mets today, and that game was won by the New Yorkers..." While giving the scores from the out of town scoreboard during an Orioles broadcast.
Could someone please explain this for all the non american people, cos i've got no clue what this slip-up is about!!?

The Yankees and the Mets are both baseball teams from New York. So just listening to what the guy said, there's no way to tell which team won the game. Kinda like if a reporter said, "Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera got in cat-fight today, and that fight was won by the annoying blonde pop singer."
