Pearl Harbor - Against History
I do not know if the movie was supposed to follow history. But they made a key mistake according to it. It involved the DooLittle Maruaders. The raid had two survivors all right. But one landed in China and the other landed in Russia, where he was taken captive and released in the 1990's. He was quite insane by then and eventually jumped off a bridge in Kentucky.

You must not know your history, because most of them did survive. 8 were captured by the Japanese and four were later killed, but most of the rest made it back later.

As a matter of fact, out of a total of 80 pilots and crewman (16 planes with a crew of 5) 4 crew were killed in action, 8 were captured of which 3 were executed by the Japanese and 1 died in captivity.

Also, it was Doolittle's Raid. The Marauders were Merill's Marauders and Wingate's Raiders over in England. They were ground troops in Burma.
