Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope - Think They'll Notice These Big Holes?
When Han lures the two stormtroopers standing guard just after the scanning crew went aboard you hear two blaster shots. Yet when you see Han and Luke dressed up in the troopers uniforms, there's no blast marks or holes.
What I think what happened was that when the stormtroopers went onto the ship, someone like Chewie did a sneak attack from behind. The blaster shots were from the reactions of the stormtroopers. Then you hear "Thumps" and that's when the stormtroopers hit the ground.
It has always been my belief that they shot the troopers in the black mesh area of the uniforms (i.e. the neck, stomach, etc.) so they wouldn't ruin the uniforms.
Their "armor" looks pretty, but it really doesn't do give them much protection. It seems like whenever a Stormtrooper gets shot with a blaster, he always ends up sprawled on the ground.
I agree that it was a sneak attack from behind.. but while we're on the subject, why didn't anyone ever use stun bolts in the movie except in the beginning? It's a big blue circle, and looks much easier to aim than those little red blasts. They could just stun the good guys, THEN kill them. :)
Well I think if you lisen to the seen again you will hear that the blasts didnt come from the storm troopers in less they stole Hans blaster... Hans blaster make a very paticuler sound... Lisen closely... Have fun and May the force be with you..
I think that maybe Chewie knocked on of them unconcious by himself. Then when the other one realises whats happened, he tried to shoot Chewie but Hans came up and knocked him out before the trooper could line up his shot and so fired aimlessly. Oh well, that's what I think anyway.

If the armor reflects blaster shots, then how do you explain in TESB when Chewie fires at a storm trooper and hits him in the white armor you see the trooper fall with a hole in the armor!
Maybe the storm troopers dodged the blasts like in the matrix then fell down because of the odd position they were in, then Chewbacca knocked them out and they stole their suits.
