When "Jack" is trying to hijack the car that Greg and Marcia are in, they roll down the window to talk to him, and every time they change camera angles from "Jack" to the inside of the car, the window either goes up or down to a totally new position.
Your slip up was accurate, but "Jack" is not the hijackers name. His name is Eddie. Greg asks him what his name is in that scene, and he quickly replies "Eddie". Later on, in the scene where they are trying to get to the auction and are stopped by the police, Marcia says something like, "Look, it's our friend Eddie that needed a jack..."
