Star Trek: Generations - Slight Miscommunication
During the climactic battle between the Enterprise and the Klingon warbird, the fearless crew figures out a way to lower the warbird's shields by raising its cloak. Riker then orders Worf to fire a "full spread" of photon torpedoes. Worf fires one.
One torpedo equals a full spread?!

They have different explosion patterns for the photon torpedos. Remember when Bones and Spock had to rig one for attack? A spread describes how the torpedo explodes.

Under the tactical station, Worf was fully spreading a peanut butter sandwich. Case closed, let's order some hasperat.

Just wanted to add that the scene where the warbird is destroyed in Generations is the exact same SFX scene used in the destruction of the warbird in The Undiscovered Country.

It's also the same explosion (from the inside pov) when they invade cardassia on that episode of deep Space 9. (when the baddie ships ram the klingons.)

HAHA yea, I see. I think these people are just lazy. I think its funny. They've reused tons of different things from different movies and shows again. There was once a space station used as an energy extractor in later shows in TNG series.

First off it's not a Warbird, it's a bird of prey. And a full spread definitely means more than one torpedo. (Fnaar fnaar)

I just have one question on the whole situation. During the entire battle they didn't once think to remodulate shields?

The explosive force used by a photon torpedo is actually yield, and as the enterprise d has only one forward facing torpedo launcher the torpedoes it fires are more like cluster torpedoes. With the bird of prey being such a small target whats the point in them splitting up before impact
