Tommy Boy - Ohio Geography
If you don't live in Ohio, this may not seem like a big deal, but as a Buckeye I thought I'd throw this in. When Tommy comes home and is met at the airport by Richard, the caption says 'Sandusky'. Sandusky is a ratty, smelly little town but more importantly it does not have an airport.
Secondly, towards the end Michele goes to this non-existent airport and buys a ticket to Cuyahoga Falls. Cuyahoga Falls, as you may have guessed, doesn't have an airport either. What's more, the two towns are about an hour and a half car ride from each other, so why buy a plane ticket to get there anyway?

As a fellow buckeye, I couldn't agree more with you and I also would like to point out that if they are in Sandusky, why is there no mention of Cedar Point? Especially when Tommy and his "brother" were driving around and he asked what there was to do in that town.

I think that this might just be a joke. I am not from Ohio, but I know it is not a very big state. Not only does she buy a plane ticket to fly from Sandusky, OH to Coyahoga Falls, OH, but if you notice, the guy selling the ticket also says that the flight goes through Columbus, OH.

Not only do Sandusky and Cuyahoga Falls have no airports, but even if they did, it would take less than two hours to drive there. By flying from Sandusky to Columbus to Cuyahoga Falls, you probably have made about a four hour trip out of what would be normally about two. Also, in the end when Tommy mentions that the whole town is at stake, there is no mention of Cedar Point at all. Now it may be just me, but I think a multi-million dollar amusement park would sustain a city more than an auto parts factory.

I don't know what the first guy was on but Sandusky's not anything like a smelly nasty town. All my family lives there and when I go up I love it. The fact that Ceder Point wasn't in the movie kind of sucks.
