Mask of Zorro, The - How Long?

When Chaterinne has walked into the stable to talk to Roberto (her father, Zorro) she asks him how long he has known Antonio, he says "sometimes it seems like forever." Then she makes the comment that he looks familiar, he says that they could have never met because he hasn't been in Spain since before she was born, but didn't Antonio supposedly just come from Spain a couple of days earlier?

The comment refers to him because she was taken away from him before she was 1 years old and so he lies about when he was last in Spain because her "fake" father, who stole her away from Anthony Hopkins, may find out he's back in town.; 15 of 6576 found this helpful.
