When the little kid (main character) gets in the fight with the two bullies at school, and he gets "stabbed", rewind a little and watch the scene in slow motion. THE KNIFE COMPLETELY MISSES HIM. It's so unbelievably unrealistic. It may look pretty real before you watch it in slow motion, but believe me, it's hilarious to watch after you've seen it in slow motion!
Obviously it isn't really a mistake. As we clearly know, the knife didn't really go into Osment, but it did puncture his skin, in the film. If you hadn't watched it in slow mo, you wouldn't have recognized it.

I agree completely. This is definitely not a slip-up. Of course they aren't really going to stab and kill him just so the movie will look more realistic.
