Charlie's Angels - You Went Back There?

When the Angels are fighting that weird guy in the alley, you see that he throws his sword at one of them and misses.He does not pick it up.

Much later in the movie, he fights them, using it.

How'd he get it back? They don't exactly sell canes that turn into swords at KMart.
