except that the Japanese lost only 64 men, 55 from the 29 planes shot down and 9 from the midget subs with 1 person captured. US losses were 2403 killed and 1178 wounded including those civilians killed by faulty anti-aircraft shells.
The information about there being over 3000 men that died in Pearl Harbor is correct. Because we are now studying this is American History and my teacher told us that 5400 people died.
Sbrah, your "history teacher" is DEAD WRONG. 5400? Surely he can't be serious. I nearly spit my coffee all over the PC monitor reading that.
Here are the casualty totals:
US:
2,402 military killed
1,247 military wounded
57 civilians killed
35 civilians wounded
IJN (Imperial Japanese Navy):
55 airmen killed
9 submariners killed
1 submariner captured
That doesn't come anywhere close to 5400 killed.
