They start the song of with the "Pokeball go, go" thing. While they are singing that they show Ash throwing a pokeball. If you have a quick eye or a pause button you will notice the pokeball is green, not red.
Sorry, guys, but you're all wrong, 'cept for you there at the top. Yes, those green ones are safari balls. But check this: In pokemon yellow, catch any pokemon in viridian city with any ball. What color is the ball? Green. If Ash was in Viridian, would it have happened to him too?
Actually, the Green Pokeballs are Safari Balls ONLY. The Pokeballs in Pokemon Yellow change depending on the color of the pokemon you catch.
Masterballs are Purple with two pink dots on top.
You should play Pokemon Pinball.
Also, I own the CD, and they made a slip up on that song, there's a part that goes "But first you gotta know about the different types, grass, fire, ground, flame, electric, water, rock, flying, ice, normal, bug, ghost, fighting and dragon (Don't forget about psychic!)" They mention fire and flame, but never mention poison!
I can explain this one easy.
Pokeballs are Red.
Great Balls are blue.
Ultra Balls are gold.
Master balls are purple, with two odd dents in the top (dunno why!)
Safari Balls, quite appropriately, are green.
Ash never did get his hands on a Master Ball. And never will. Who the devil would put Ashy-boy in charge of a Master Ball!
Those are Safari Balls. That also explains the odd outdoorsy clothing he wore in that scene. So why did you not see this episode before? Because! This is one of the LOST EPISODES. The Safari Zone episode was banned in the US because the warden repeatedly shot a pair of pistols at Team Rocket. There, see? I made things all better. Gimme a hug. ^_^
All "balls" have white bottom halfs.
Poke Balls have red tops.
Great Balls have blue tops with black crests.
Ultra Balls have yellow tops with black stripes.
Master Balls have purple tops with pink spots.
By process of elimination, we see that if there is a green ball, it must be a Safari Ball.
By the way, before anyone asks, Pester Balls have blue tops with yellow-rimmed red spots, but you can't catch Pokemon with them.
Heheh. Purple with pink dots. Tacky! >_< Whoever designed Master Ball... *cough*Tracey*cough* had more taste in colors than that. Those are actually dents possibly designed for grip. In Pokemon stadium, you can see a Master Ball in 3-D, and it shows that there are no Pink dots, just two round dents or something. Wherever it is pictured as Pink Dots, usually in Pokemon Pinball, it is only pictured like that because that's as close as you can get with Game Boy's graphics engine.
Those of you giving us lists of the colour of each ball are right, however in Gold/Silver the colours are very different.
PokéBalls are red-topped
Great Balls are blue-topped
Ultra Balls are gold-topped
Safari Balls are (wait for it) grey-topped
Master Balls are green topped, which explains the guy at the top
Speed Balls are white-topped
Lure Balls are blue-topped
Moon Balls are pink-topped
Also, you can have custom-made Pokeballs (Oak's parcel at the beginning of the video game is one example) and I bet you could have any color you wanted (but I may be wrong).
Yes, you're both right, but as you've said before, Alex, the cartoon greatly differs from the game.
Dark Smurf, yer right there! There's no law against that, it's said that a Trainer can design their Pokeball any way they want. In the ep. Showdown at Dark City (or something like that, you know the one I mean) when Nurse Joy appears at the end and breaks up the Scyther-Electabuzz fight, she displays her personal, and I have to say, extremely overdone Pokeball (the one that contains Chansey, of course)

As you all know the great ball is green and safari ball they don't show it on the show but they say it on the net.
...what the heck kind of argument was that? You think we'll come right out and believe someone who doesn't use Punctuation? O.o
Is it wrong to post this here? I don't think so... go see my album of Pokemon and Miscellaneous Junk... copy and paste this URL into yer browser.

And do email me and tell me what you think of the place! Thanks all!
Ok, I'm no Pokemon expert, nor do I claim to be one. I've seen most of the American episodes (unfortunately not in order). No one has mentioned the GS ball on here. What is the deal with it?
It's pretty obvious what the GS ball is. It's complete symbolism. Ash can't WAIT to open that ball and find out what's in the GS ball. But yet he has to keep on waiting, waiting until Proffessor Oak finds a way to open it. Does this sound at all familiar? The GS ball, in the future, will contain a rare Gold/Silver Pokemon. But until then, Ash and the GS ball represent all of us poor americans waiting like hungry dogs for the first release of Pokemon GS. O_O
I'll kill Ash for $2 if Sailor Pluto takes his place. Go Scorpios! :)) If Trista/Setsuna can't, three bucks. Just get him away! I hate the anime anyway. I play Blue.
They show the daughters of Prof. Ivy trying to open the ball with a chainsaw etc. But how do you normally open a Poké Ball? Throw it. Why didn't they just throw the ball and see what comes out?
Oh, and whoever said that by the time Prof. Oak gets it open Ash will be dead, think logic; Prof. Oak will be dead as well, won't he??
The Pokemon in the GS ball is Serebii, number 251. Mars, you're gonna have to tell me what Serebii's American name is. Where do you get all those american names for the new Pokemon, anyway? I wanna knooooooooow!!! O_=
I have my sources ^_^
If you must have a complete list of americanized GS names, email me, I'll hand over everything I've got, though a few (like five or six) haven't been released. Serebii's americanized spelling is shrouded in controversy, but most sources including myself think it will be called Selebi (essentially, keeping its Japanese name) As for the contents of the GS ball, I'm not sure there's proof that Selebi's in there (did I mention I think Serebii is a much better name?) though that would be the obvious answer. HOWEVER, there is strong evidence disproving this theory--the Japanese Pokemon GS episode guide has a fascinating listing... "Nuo and the GS Ball"!
I noticed this too, I have a video of the music video 2 B A Master on my hard drive from Pikachu's Jukebox, the pokéball that Ash throws IS green, I have the japanese version of Pokemon Gold, the masterball is green.
Heheh. Disgruntled seems to be leader of the Ash Ketchum fan club so far...
...dude. I feel really sorry for him.
I mean, the international foundation to prevent people from stealing those little hotel soaps got more members than that.
Masterball... green? Have you paid no attention? All previous records, including illustrations in Gym: Heroes game cards have proven that it's a bright purple.
Bah, you have no evidence of how many people are in the fan club. Mars Guo. And I know Ash's voice is done by a girl, but he doesn't sound like one. It's called acting. And you Gungan Dum, are a blemish on the buttocks of humanity. Mars Guo and Gungan Dum are evil! EEEEVIIIILLLLLL!
Sure it's called acting, but it's not good acting, that's all. You think Bart Simpleton (Simpson) is voiced by a real ten-year-old boy, doncha? Now that's quality acting!!!
I got some info from some reliable sources saying that inside the g/s ball is Azumarril, the evolved form of Marill. AND YES, the safari ball ARE green 0_o
grrrrrrrrr... get it through your thick skulls!
That's all!=) -=Sparky=-
Check out the first episode of pokemon. In the battle between Gengar and Nidorino, Nidorino is returned to his pokeball and the trainer (looks like Bruno from the elite 4) throws a GREEN pokeball.
(if someone said this one before, sorry i haven't read all the comments)
probably the reason why the pokeball is green is because this cartoon is so cheaply made they use cells from episode to episode as this was only a quick insteaed of drwing a similar scene again but with a diffenrent coulour pokeball they just use the same one to cut down on time expecting noone would see it...which is one more reason why this blessed thing is so useless
Actually it was safari balls, just think, Ash had more than 50 green balls, and also, didn't oak mention this: "Yeah! mostly it was the toaros(spell check) from the safari zone you caught."
All of the colors of the balls used in Pokemon can be seen in the Pokemon version of monopoly. But no one has mentioned yet that the master ball has a big M in the center of it.
Actually it is spelled Celibi, I think. (I might be wrong though.) And what is so wrong with Ash and Tracey? Oops, I take that back. Ash is not so bad (just a bit thick) but Tracey is a prat. We all be crazy? Neh.
Go to the official Pokémon web site(Pokémon World). If you dig into the web site enough, you will find that it is really spelled Celebi.
P.S. It also says so in the Pokémon magazine,Beckett Pokémon Collector(the later editions).
