Sopranos, The - Paulie Pumping Gas?......Fuhgeddaboudid!
In episode #37, "The Pine Barrens", Paulie and Christopher are at a service area on the Garden State Parkway where Paulie is shown pumping gas into his car......OOPS, no way!
Jersey is the only state in the country that does NOT have "self service" gas pumps. Neither Paulie or anyone else pumps their own gas here.
There are in fact stops along the parkway, in the middle of the North and South sides of it. There are gas stations, restaurants, and other stops. I don't think there are any on the turnpike.
New Jersey isn't the only state that has outlawed self-serve gas. Oregon also has that law. Also, there are rest stops on both the Parkway & the Turnpike. The rest stops on the Turnpike are huge, with several restaurants each, plus souvenir shops and gas stations. The ones on the Parkway are smaller and don't have as much stuff.
