Arnie collapses face first on the muddy beach then hears the creature behind him. He scrambles through the debris with the left half of his face covered in mud. When he crouches against the bank his entire face and body are covered in mud.
He fell into the mud, already covering half his body. He later then crawled through the mud, covering more of his body. He also patched up any exposed skin to hide amoung the tree debris!!!
