Gecko is walking on the beach (on the east coast) and talking to Bud Fox on his cell phone. He talks about the gorgeous sunrise, but the sun is rising over land, and not the ocean! I guess they forgot the sun rises over the ocean on the east coast!
It all depends where Gekko's house was.... what shore. You're talking about New York, which includes Long Island and the Hamptons. It is possible for the sun to rise over the land, depending on which shore Gekko's house was on.
