Truman Show, The - Candy Switch
In "The Truman Show," there is a part where Truman is next to another guy, talking to him while the guy is loading the candy machine. He puts in a yellow candy. The shot cuts away to another thing then back to the candy, which is now brown. The candies around it, though, are actually still yellow. Then it cuts away to just them, then back to the candy machine where he finishes loading it, and the candy is now yellow again.

Oops, sorry, I forgot something. The candy was yellow-WRAPPED, then brown-WRAPPED, then yellow-WRAPPED again. Thank you for your time.

They are not really candy bars, they are basketball (or some other type of card) cards. Where have you seen candy so thin? They looked alot like basketball cards to me.

Actually, I think that was supposed to happen. Truman does look at the candy suspiciously between shots, after all. It's supposed to look like the "bloopers" that occasionally happen in TV shows.

Maybe it's just 'cause Moe, his friend pulled them out, and put another in. It shows him doing this a couple of times...probably 'cause he doensn't have much candy. But at one point, you see him reach for a candy thingy, (when Truman isn't looking) then he puts it back...like he's restacking it.

This is defiantly a slip up. He is quite clearly trying to fill up the candy dispensing machine. He first fills the 2nd row with to yellow coloured candy bars. Then, after the cut, the same line is now brown, the same as the other row. Then after another cut, Its the yellow candy again. Its simply poor editing after having to re-shoot a scene where Truman and his friend are talking. Some one should of checked how the candy was organised before they re-shoot it.

OK, everybody pay close attention. The candy doesn't switch (candy now sports card). Marlen first puts in the brown wrappered candy which appears to be Hershey w/ almonds. He has to keep busy so when he runs out he reaches in and takes out a few bars then puts them back in when Truman is watching. Then he starts refilling the yellow wrappered candy which from my candy experiacne apppears to be Mr. Goodbar. He fills in a few and then the shot cuts away, it cuts back and the goodbars are gone. I at first thought this was a slip up but then I remembered what he did with the hershey's and assumed the same effect was meant. Nothing else needs to be said about this becasue the whole time he is messing with the "yellow" candy the "brown" candy IS STILL THERE!
