In the shower scene, Marion walks into the bathroom and closes the door. She actually leans into it to make sure it closes tightly. She drops her robe and gets into the shower. A few shots later the camera shows a view from inside the bathroom looking out the bathroom door to the door of the hotel room as it is opening. Who opened the bathroom door?
Actually, I think what he/she meant was that the bathroom door was open as to be able to see the HOTEL door opening. Saying, you look through the bathroom door into the hotel room and seeing the door to the outside open. But, that IS a screw up since she did shut the bathroom door before she got in the shower. I hope what I just wrote is understandable. I don't know if I wrote it right.
All of your explanations would be wrong anyway. If he meant that the door was open and Norman just walked in, that's wrong because you can clearly see the door swing open through the shower curtain.
I gathered from one comment that the person meant the door was open after the murder and you can see into the motel room. Well you can also see that when Norman(mother) leaves, he leaves the door open. And finally, you cannot see the motel room door from the bathroom because the motel room door is perpendicular to the bathroom door. Believe me. This is my all-time favorite movie and I know it all by heart.
