Braveheart - What Happened to the Army?
In the last battle after Wallace is killed, Hamish steps forward, takes out Wallace's sword, and throws it. But, as soon as he takes it out, (he is still standing in line with the army) there is a shot of him throwing it. His arm is stretched back and the sword facing backwards, so the army either instantly all jumped back to make room or he bolted ahead a few feet.

He likely would have taken a few steps forward to build momentum . . . a Scottish Claymore (the large two-handed sword used in the movie) weighs quite a bit, so if you want to huck it you'd have to put your full body weight behind it.
