All the way through the film, Sebastian, Ariel's crab friend is walking forwards instead of sideways. Some people that I've spoken to say that this is because he is actually a lobster, but that can't be the case because the chef calls him a 'sweet little succulent crab'. I can't believe that nobody noticed - they even call him a sidewalker in the movie!!!
Also Sebastian is a reddish color through out the movie. I know that lobsters are brownish until they are cooked and then turn red. Is this true with crabs too?
There is a BIG difference on how crabs and lobsters look. How can this be confused? I've been obsessed with this movie since the day it was released in theaters and you can look up on any LM trivia and see (VERY CLEARLY) Sebastian, is in fact, a crab. (He's a crab in the books, too, before someone tries to debate that)
