In this episode Tim drives Jill's Red 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Station Wagon to a construction site to tape a crane at work.... Tim accidently drops a steel beam on Jill's car crushing it.... They don't actually crush a rare Nomad but it is substituted with a two door station wagon.... The Nomad door is like a convertible door with no window frame..... Also notice the interior of the car as it has a black tarp covering the seats.

Like you said, the Nomad is a rare car, why would anyone intentionally ruin a rare car that was in like new condition for a joke? I mean it's supposed to be funny, leave it at that please. even if you could afford to smash one would you? Just think about it :)

If you will also notice, at the end of the show during the credits they point this out. They are standing at the construction site with the ruined car and then they pan over to the real Nomad. I wouldn't exactly call that a hard one to catch.
