When T.S. pulls into Brandy Svenning's driveway to go to Disney World, he is driving a Ford. After that, he is driving a Mercury! Check it out if you area true Kevin Smith fan.
Ummm, I am wondering if the "...if you area [sic] true Kevin Smith fan." has anything to do with this slip-up? I am still wondering about the relevance of this comment. Is this supposed to mean that the fact that the car brands are a slip up is a little easter egg as well, or was it just a stupid thing that was added on? Just curious.
Well, I'll bet it has something to do with the real beginning of the movie being re-shot after the film was complete. And a Mercury is as close to a Ford that you can get.
Ford=Mercury...they're the same company. Ford is a big company with divisions who have their own brand names...one of these is Mercury. Mercury has the same type of thing going: the wagon he drives is also a crown vic. (or at least i'm 95%sure it is)
If you are a true Kevin Smith fan, you'd know that they were going to Universal Studios...not Disney Land. As for the car, I agree with everyone else...same company...no real difference.
In the DVD commentary Kevin Smith makes mention of this specific car (it belonged to someone involved with the movie (don't know who))but he never says that there was another car. HOWEVER, the beginning scene with TS, Brandi and the car was re-shot in LA after the rest of the movie was shot in Minnesota, Kevin mentions something about that car completely dying in Minnesota, therefore they probably did use another car for the beginning scene.
