When Lloyd is talking to that old lady by the newspaper stand, Lloyd loses his wallet in the stand on accident, then the very next scene the wallet magically disappears. Is this some sort of magic wallet? I don't think so.
Lloyd gets his wallet caught in the stand thing, so stops the little old lady to help him out. It is when he stops the lady (BEFORE he leaves to find change) that you can see that the wallet has vanished. It was not yet taken by the lady, it was just obviously a new take, and the continuity people forgot to put the wallet back in the machine.
yea, you can very clearly see, when the camera angle is zoomed out right after he locks the wallet in the machine, there is no wallet in there. the lady has not even shown up yet, and there has been no time for someone else to have bought a paper, or he would have been able to get it out then, before the lady shows up.
