As the troupe are trying to get back on the falcon to leave the death star as C3PO says "come on R2 where going" R2s front wheel pops out and as he moves forward you can see his back legs/wheels getting futher and futher apart before the scene cuts to Han. The next scene with the droids has R2s legs kept together with a piece of string.
