In the scene where Dr. Hannibal is hanging the Italian inspector from a balcony, the whole scene is being filmed by someone or something, because Clarice is watching this further on in the movie. She even zooms in on the face of Hannibal and by doing so, she recognizes him. Who is filming?
If you read the book, it explains in great detail how the event was filmed by a tourist and sold. The tourists are shown with their cameras and video cameras shortly before he is shoved over.
Remember when the tour guide was showing the japeneese people the blalcony right before Hannibal did Pazzi in? They thought it was a show or something, so they videotaped it, I think.
It is clearly explained in the book. The Japanese tourists and another tourist both video-taped the incident and the Japanese sold it to the news and the other to Mason Verger. Sigh.
