Watch the part of the movie where Clarice got a letter from Hannibal. Well, towards the end of the letter, she hears Hannibal reading the letter in her mind, Hannibal says, "From your old pal, Hannible," but when you look at the letter you don't see the part "from your old pal" anywhere.
I noticed that too but I presumed that Hannibal (note the spelling please) added that in as he read the letter out to himself but it wasn't actually written down, just a thing said to himself. (Sorry if this is unclear but it's hard to explain).
Just wanted to say that that is not the only slip up in the movie. If you listen to much of the dialogue between Clarice and Lecter played on tape, you'll notice that what was supposed to be in the first movie wasn't. They went back and taped portions of dialogge from the book Silence of the Lambs that they left out of the original movie. If you haven't read the book but know the movie really well, you were probably sitting there saying "wait...that was never said!" Hannibal wouldn't have made as much sense if they had gone ahead and left it out again. "From your old pal" is the same type thing...Lecter signs his letter with that in Hannibal the book, but the copy of the letter they show in the movie has it left off.
No, no, no, no....... The taped conversations WERE from the first movie...sort of. Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore repeated the convos ver batem from the first film. They did this because Julianne Moore's voice sounded nothing like Jodie Foster's.
What are you talking about, cartman? I meant the part where she's in the that basement and she gets a guiness world record letter and Hannibal's letter. Hannibal said something in her mind that wasn't in the letter.
As you can hear Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal) reading over the letter it is obvious that he said it to himself but did not ever write it, have you never done this when writing a letter I sure know I have.
