OK, it's been a while since I saw this movie, but-
Near the beginning when the kids hit the guy in the road, they get out and at first they can't see him. It's only when they go around the bend that they find his "body" lying in the road. Can someone explain to me how an airborne body can fly around a bend?
The reason is that the guy who was hit by the car was not the same guy who was lying in the road. It all comes together at the end of the movie. The characters figured out that the guy laying in the road was already dead. The guy they hit was the guy who proceeded to stalk them throughout the movie.
I might be figuring this all wrong, but this still confuses me. Ok, so if Ben Willis was the one they hit, then he was the body around the corner. If he wasn't the one they hit, then what happened to the body of who was hit? I know they thought it was David Eagen(or whatever), which it ended up not being. So, can someone explain how that whole thing happened?
Actually the guy they hit was the guy who proceeded to stalk them, later in the movie it explains that he had just been there and he killed the other guy because he blamed him for his daughters death. The reason the body is where it is is because after they hit him they swerve the car around to face the other direction, they would have gone around the bend partly because they were driving fast and it would have taken them a long time to stop.
That's wrong. The guy they hit was Ben Willis - he was alive when they dumped him in the water - hence how he grabbed at Barry when he went to get Helen's crown. The dead guy was David Egan. David Egan had killed Ben Willis' daughter the summer before and Ben was up in the mountains to kill David (when David was sitting on the cliff at the beginning - that's when Ben killed him). So when the girls heard that David Egan was found in the water the next summer - they thought it was him they had killed, but it was really Ben Willis - the fisherman - and he was getting them back for dumping his presumed dead body in the ocean - because he "Knew what they did last summer" (hit him and dumped him)
Okay so you are sooo wrong. David Egan was the man in the beginning shot who turned the little coin thingy and it said die so he killed himself by jumping off of the cliff. He was the dead chicks boyfriend and he blamed himself for the accident that killed her. His body didn't wash up until later which caused the teens to think they hit him because Ben Willis' body could never float up because he didn't die. They make it obvious that he was out there stalking David Egan. So unless there was a third dead guy that was just happening to be lying in the road and had nothing to do with the story...the guy they found lying in the road was Ben Willis he just was not really dead...thus the reason he came to while they were trying to fish out the pageant crown. I have no explanation for how he magically transported himself around the bend either though. I just know that there was only one dead guy on the road that night. The first kid that died was still in the ocean.
