You'll easily spot the slip-up pages before Richard's ordeal. After having breakfast at Serpentine's, Hunter asked, "Which way to the Black Friars, my lady?" Lady Door "paused and concentrated" and to my astonishment, immediately responded to the question. Door and the other characters never mentioned the Black Friars to Hunter in the previous pages. I was a bit turned off by this discovery because part of the thrill in reading "Neverwhere" is guessing who the traitor is. This gave me an idea. (I have other notes on "Neverwhere" for discussion, if anyone is interested.)
