Ok, You are completely wrong on this. It may seem like she didn't pay for it but if you see, since she is very popular since she has her own bridal line, a lot of people know her. She waves to the cashier to put it on her tab. Just watch it again. It is put onto her tab.

This is plausible. I'm aware of the fact that some newspapers are free.

Not to be mean, but who ever publishes, edits, and prints newspapers for free? I agree with "Queenprep4am." She waved it on her tab.

That's true. My Mom gets free newspapers a lot. Natasha Richardson probably waved it at the guy to let him know she was taking a free one.

In some places you can take a newspaper every day in a week and pay a weekly fee. Or it might just be a free newspaper.

Actually not to correct one of the comments made for this slip up but there are some newspapers that are free. I get one on the bus everyday and they make their money by getting paid to advertise in the back that is why free newspapers always have a big advert section in the back. So I agree with the person who said that it could have been a free paper. Besides it's only a film, it's not like she was really going to steal it. Anyway it would be boring to watch her hand over money for it and then wait for the change.
