There are about 3-4 times in the movie, especially when there is a dialogue between 2 characters, where the boom mic appears in the centre-top part of the screen.
It first occurs when Samuel's character Trevor Garfield is in the cafeteria talking to the male teacher (forgotten his name), who is admiring him for being a "hero" by coming back to teach after being stabbed in the back by a student.
The most obvious occurance, however, is when Trevor is talking to the woman teacher (forgotten her name as well!) when she confronts him about the suspicious death of one student, and the cutting off of a finger of another. They are at his place, and she is getting rather upset...and then...out of no where....a strange object floats in top-mid screen. It stays there. Even drops down further. For about 20 seconds. Then the shot changes.
I couldn't believe my eyes!
