Oh, come ON, you guys, give it a rest! The person's obviously just trying to give a couple laughs! *I* thought it was funny, and I *also* ignored the entire situation around Napster while I was reading it, because it WASN'T RELEVANT!
I don't care what you all say, but the person who wrote this has a point and it is hilarous!!! Lars Ulrich and Metallica need to give it a rest. They were asking for it when they brought it up and we all know why they did it too.
Ah, Metalica. The death of Napster and Co. And what do they get out of it? Jack squat. Really, how much of a difference does Napster and Co. make? If anything, Napster helped Metalica by introducing people to the music. Some friend recomends a group, you download it on Napster, decide you like it, buy a CD. But instead, Metalica had to get whiny that they were losing millions of dollars (exaggeration, of course) and sue Napster. Great way to please the fans. Now what? Sell overpriced crap in which you'll only be getting a fraction of the money that someone spends on it? Good one.....
Yeah, folks, chill. I think Lars Ulrich is a freakin' loser. I mean, Metallica's cool and all, but if you've seen the www.joecartoon.com cartoon called "Napster Bad" Lars said something like "I got up the other day and realized how f**king rich we are.." and he's right! Hasn't like, every Metallica album gone PLATINUM at least once? Think of how many albums they have! As if they need more money - they're taking showbiz for granted. They're greedy filth. They think they're going in the poorhouse cause of this whole Napster thing, all they're money is being stolen, while they have still millions upon millions of dollars while us normal US citizens have average annual incomes like 40,000 or 50,000 a year, while Metallica is making in the millions! If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go throw lawn darts at a picture of Lars.
I thought the quote was very funny. I think Metallica is wealthy enough that they all can afford to lose "millions" of dollars. And...just for the record, (this is statistically proven) CD sales have went up since Napster was created.
I realize that to Sofia Maria, and everyone else who are not familiar with Danish, it seems as if Lars translated a Danish sentence in his head, and screwed up. But as a matter of fact that comment sounds stupid even in Danish!
By the way: Hijacking music, would that be a common thing to do in the US, to my best knowledge here in Denmark anyone who own illegal CD's, simply copied the music.
