During "Drop in", CJ is in the press room going over a speech with Josh. Sam comes in and says something, CJ says something smart back, and Sam says "Very smart" and calls her by her real name, not CJ.

Yeah, but the question is did he call her by her real name in the show (ie what CJ stands for) or did he by mistake call her Allison, which is her real name OFF the show. That does happen...
I just re-watched the scene I think Anon is talking about. First of all, Sam (not Josh) is briefing CJ, and it is Josh who interrupts them. At no time do either of them call her 'Allison'. (Anyway, you'd think the production crew would be vigilant about that sort of thing given Martin Sheen's propensity to forget names.)
