In the earlier part of the movie General Arturo Salazar tries to get Javier (Benicio Del Toro's character) to work for him and help him eradicate a drug cartel. Javier asks how he can help and Salazar produces some photographs of the assassin Francisco Flores. If you look at these pictures you will notice he has a big scar above his left eye. However when you get to see Flores in person you notice he does not have that distinct scar. He receives the scar later on in the movie as he is being tortured and has it from that point forward. The photos should not have had the scar unless they were brought back from the future.
