2001 A Space Odyssey - A Question of Scale
Throughout the film, the scale of the Discovery in relation to the EVA pods changes. In some scenes, the 3 pod doors on Discovery take up the bottom half of the command section, but in other shots, the EVA pod doors take up just a small fraction of the space.
I suspect several Discovery models were made for different distance shots, high detail for close-up work and low-detail for distance work, and they never quite got it together on the scale front.
Either that or one of the shots is old or test footage that wasn't intended to make the final cut.
