Matrix, The - Friends, Romans, Countrymen...Lend Me Your Earrings?

This slip-up is during Neo's rest period on their ship when he is recovering from the whole "welcome to the real world" thing after being dumped by the machines down the tubes. I noticed it when he was talking with his new friends on board. He hasn't used his real body his entire life so why does he have an earring hole in his ear? Do the machines make it a habit of piercing the ears of all their "copper top" babies? I'm sure a little bit of makeup would have covered the holes thus fixing this inconsistency.

So if you get shot, you won't have holes, and if you get your ears peirced, you won't have holes. If you die...you're dead (Your body can't live without a mind.)
