When Smith forces Thomas to climb down the rope in the radio room scene, he is wearing a German soldiers uniform. Then, a few minutes later,when he is gunned by a German officer while climbing down, he is still wearing just the German uniform. But the last shot showing us Thomas falling to his demise has him wearing another kind of overcoat, one that the others use later in the film.
