Pocahontas - Hail to the Chief
This really bugs me in any film; when the actors can't agree on the pronunciation of proper nouns.
At the tribal council when the medicine man conjures hungry wolves from the fire, Kocoum addresses the chief and says: "Great POW-uh-tun,..."
Every other person in the film and on Disney audio products calls him "Pow-HOT-un." As a close knit group the tribe would no doubt all know how the chief likes his name said.

It could have been an accent, some people just pronounce things differently. (example: tam-ae-toe or tam-oh-to, pat-at-oh or pat-ot-oh)

Well, yes there are different ways to pronounce some words. However, I work at Jamestown as a costumed interpreter. The correct pronunciation according to surrounding American Indian tribes IS: POW-ha-tan
