Hackers - Really Fast Reporting
When some of the hackers go to Nikon's house to watch Hack The Planet, we see an interview with Agent Gill on the tv. Trouble is, he doesn't give this interview until the next day, while Joey is being busted.

This is not a slip-up. The joke is, because the agent is so useless in fighting computer crime, he always says the same crap to the media when he is interviewed. This was two separate interviews (among many that he gives)but he said the same thing again. It happens at least three time.

Have you people even seen this movie? Look behind him the first time he's giving the interview and you'll see Joey being led down the stairs by two thugs. It's set at a strange angle, but if you look, you can see it.

Its true you can see on the interview with geek gill, joey in the background being hauled down the stairs and if you look closely you can see that his feet aren't even on the ground as the agents are lifting him!!

Just in response to the tape recorder bit, it largely depends on the phone. Some of the phones will require that you put at least a nickel into them before they will open the audio circuit that allow3s you to use recorded tones, while others simply won't allow the trick to work at all (especially after the movie was released). If you're really curious about the subject, do a search for the phrase 'red-boxing', but be warned, it's a federal crime. Felony! Heh.

Joey is being taken away in the movie... but never does it say that it's not going back to earlier that day... it's just logic... the scenes aren't connected... the people @ Nikon's just weren't as perceptive to see that it was joey being hauled away...

Or you could have even more fun and build a blue-box...Hehe...Or maybe not. Those won't work anymore, ever since the phone companies switched to digital switchboards. But still, it would be fun to build a blue box, for nostalgia's sake...

thats the whole joke...it WAS Joey, they didn't notice it. When it shows Joey bein' taken..it wasn't the next day, it was what we call a flashback...how dumb are you people?

I might be wrong, but the phreaking-trick worked a long time ago - back in the times when phreaking wasn´t illegal - simply because no one knew it was possible. (But I might be wrong)
