In the scene where Richard Dryfuss' character comes in drunk, Marsha Mason's character is trying to help him to bed. Richard Dryfus goes to the window to yell outside and Marsha Mason is trying to steady him and catch him from falling out the window. In the process, they knock the entire contents of a table top of stuff to the floor. A second or two later, when she pulls him back into the window, all the things are arranged perfectly on the table again!
