Raiders of the Lost Ark - Where Did Those Snakes Come From?
In the scene where Indy is about to drop down into the Well of the Souls, Sullah says to him "Asps, very dangerous..." O.K, let's analyze the snakes in the pit. The first is obvious, it's not an Asp, but a Cobra (I'll let that one slide). After they pan across the floor, you see snakes from South America, Australia, North America and other locales. How, exactly, did a common Boa Constrictor from South America end up in a pit in Egypt? A less serious slip up is at the very beginning when Indy jumps into the plane with Jock and is greeted by his pet snake "Reggie". I find it hard to believe that Jock traveled all the way to South America with an Asian species of Python.

most of those snakes in the pit were rubber, and most of the rest were actually legless lizards, which are more common and slithery than most snakes. As to Jock's pet snake, she was probably in Jock's compartment when they first flew in.

I saw a "Making of" on this film, and they had to raid every pet store they could to find enough snakes for the shots they did, Some were rubber, but they needed a lot of snakes.. and any snake they could get their hands on was fine. :)

What bothered me is why Indy didn't notice the snake when he flew in with Jock in the first place. I assume it's possible that Indy came in a different way, but why have two different modes of transportation?
