At the very end, German Major Konig comes out of his sniper hole to see if the Russian sniper, Zaitsev, is dead. He holds his rifle in front of him with both hands in the combat ready position. Just then Zaitsev appears and shoots Harris dead. But when Zaitsev approaches the body to take the enemy weapon, Konig's rifle is slung diagonally across his body in the classic rifleman's carrying position.
