South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut - Can You Kill a Cartoon? Whers Cartman's Backpack?
At the start, Cartman says he's not bothered about seeing the T & P movie cause "the animation's all crappy", but throughout the rest of the film, T&P are referred to as real people.
Also , in the scene where Cartman has to turn the power off at the USO show, he is wearing a backpack. He gets scared by Kenny's ghost and runs away to see Kyle and Stan in the audience, and when we see him again, is backpack is gone. Then, when the boys meet The Mole after he has been bitten by the dogs and is dying, his backpack has returned.

On any other animated movie this would be a slip up but not South Park because it is pretty obvious they live in an animated world because of how they walk and they way things move and happen. Therefore T&P are animated and they are real because on South Park animation is real life.

Just my two cents, but... First of all, I think it was just a joke and it was quite funny if you ask me. Second of all, for those of you who don't think it's a joke: T&P could be real live people, but their show is animated and based on the "real life" T&P.

Well, it seems to me that this scene pokes fun at the critics who claim that South Park's animation is "all crappy". Also, right after the comment, the animation (intentionally, I assume) does get a bit worse, with the kids "walking" stranger than usual.

T.P. are the initials of Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park. And I agree, South Park is set in an animated version of Colorado. Just after Cartman said that Terence and Philip had crappy animation, the four boys skipped down the street. Notice the deliberate crappy animation!

The statement about "the animation's all crappy" is meant as a joke - referring to how alot of people frown on South Parks crude animation. Thats the reason T&P's animation is even worse with it's flip-top heads, rectangular bodies, etc... The creators of South Park basically said "They think South Park is animated poorly? We'll show them how just how bad the animation can get!"

this comment was obviously made as a joke, you can see after Cartman says it they all look at each other with a look of confusion as if to say, "Hey, wait a sec, aren't we animated."

Eggman, the reason that terrance's and phillip's heads are "flip flop" is because they are Canadian, all the Canadians in that movie have flapping heads.... listen to "Blame Canada," one of the lines is "blame Canada, blame Canada with all their beady little eyes and flapping heads all full of lies."

Lance Wilder the main background artist for The Simpsons comes from my home town in Massachusetts. His father has a show on a public access channel around here, and yesterday he had his son on, and Lance said that there will be three Simpson movies coming out after the show ends. This might not be for a few years since the show will probably go for at least three more years.

Another theory about this slip-up is that other things in the T&P movie are animated Example: Jurassic Park 3 has a lot of animation but still stars real people Terrance and Phillip could still be real, but some stuff in the movie is animated Do you see?

Not that this really matters, but I think Terrance and Phillip are animated in their movie, for one reason. If you listen very carefully to Stan's mom somewhere when they are singing about Canada, her exact quote was "...my Stan saw the damn cartoon and now he's off to join the clan!" That means that it was animated.

Terrance and Phillip had a cartoon made. If you watch the episode called "Terrance and Phillip: Behind the Blow" they talk about how T&P had a sat. morning cartoon. Thats what Cartman was referring to when he said the animation was all crappy.
