When Troy and Gabriella are about to sing, Breaking Free, Troy says its ok its just like in kindergarten? I don't get it! I thought they only known for a few weeks, let a alone 10 years?!?

If you watch it from the beginning, when they are about to sing "Start of something new", they say that. They are both really nervous because neither of them had done anything like that & she says like in kindergarten you make friends easy without judgment or something like that.
