NCIS - Forgetful Fornell

In NCIS, Tobias Fornell and Jethro Gibbs are almost 'best' friends and have a long standing relationship. Fornell even married Gibb's ex-wife.

In the Season one episode 'Yankee White', Fornell and NCIS agent Kate Todd allow Jethro Gibbs onto Airforce One as they believe him to be a local coroner's assistant. Jethro and Fornell are stood about 2 metres from each other and for some reason the episode is written so that Fornell has NO idea who Jethro Gibbs is!

He doesnt even seem know Gibbs is NCIS as he is surprised when Gibbs takes the plane, which means that this is a major mistake in plotting, or Fornell and Gibbs are both suffering from Temporary One-Episode Amnesia.

As the series progresses, Fornell's cases and Gibbs' cases overlap several times bringing them continuously in contact. In the beginning of the series Fornell and Gibbs are constantly at each other and they realize they are a lot alike, which strengthens their friendship. As for Fornell marrying Gibbs' ex-wife, it is never stated that they were married before the time of the episode of "Yankee White."; 15 of 6576 found this helpful. Did you?
