Saving Private Ryan - .30 Cal "Disintegrating Link" Belt?
In the final battle when the machine-gunner in the tower with Jackson yells "I'm out of .30 calibre!" he clearly has a "disintegrating link" machine gun belt which the Army did not yet have for the Browning .30 cals. The .50 cal. machine guns did use them, however the .30's still had the cloth belt.

The Army Model 1919A4 uses disintegrating link belts, therefore this is not a slip-up! (FYI: They are called "disintegrating" because each link "dis-integrates" (separates) from the belt as each round is fired)
