In Monster House after they rescued Jenny they see a dog on the front lawn of the house. The dog squats down to pee and then gets eaten. Later, at the end of the movie when all of the victims of the house climb out of the crater where the house used to sit, you see the dog lift its leg to pee and put out the candle in a jack o' lantern. In the beginning it was a girl dog (hence the squatting) and in the end it was a boy.
