National Treasure - Robert Newton Vs. Newman
If a director is going to make a history-based movie like National Treasure, they would at least get the small historical information correct. Like the 55 signers instead of 56, when Ben's dad is referring to the man who hung the lanterns from the Old North Church in Boston, he called him Robert Newton. In all actuality, his name was Robert Newman.

I think it may have just been a matter of the actor pronouncing the name wrong.
