Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Who Really Sired Spike
In the episode School Hard in season 2 when Angel is trying to convince Spike that he has no soul Spike sees through it and says something like "You think you can fool me? You were my sire. My yoda." In later episodes of Buffy (i forget the name of the episode but it's the episode of season 5 that Buffy gets staked and asks Spike to tell her how he beat the other slayers) Spike says Dru sired him.

Spike was sired by Drusilla so that Dru cold have "someone to play with." Drusilla was sired by Angel, and in the decade or so after Spike was turned, they all traveled together (Darla too). So Spike attributes his training in all thing vampiric to Angel, and uses sire here to that effect. Angel is actually his grandsire.

The master sired Darla, Darla sired Angel, Angel sired Dru, Dru sired Spike. They addressed this in an earlier blooper, there are two explanations. 1) Spike isn't using the word sire in the sense of who bit and turned him, but in the sense of who took him under his wing and helped him (this goes along w/his "Yoda" reference). 2) Spike was not originally meant to be a long term character. When they decided to keep him on they tweaked his back story to fit the overall plot better.
