There is a scene towards the end of the movie where Henry Winkler's character has a fire hose put into his mouth and turned on. A moment later. Michael Keaton's character is talking to Henry and they show several angles on the upper part of his body. He is completely dry from all angles. They even do a couple of close shots and you see that his hair is dry (and feathered on the sides)
