When Rimmer is giving Kryten his driving test in Starbug, before he gets ejected, Rimmer is wearing his "Captain Emerald" hat with the aerial extended. This is to conceal a (very obvious) light-coloured wire behind Rimmer! The actor keeps tilting his head so that the aerial lines up with the wire, in an attempt to hide it. The wire is for when Rimmer is accidentally ejected from Starbug through the roof; when Rimmer returns to Starbug after ejecting, the wire is gone.

I know there had to be a wire there, but did it have to be a white wire over the dark set?
