Go to the part where the brothers and the old guy get on the ship after trying to run away from the cop. Obviously they were leaving from California, because that's where they lived. It then cuts(after a moment) to a map on a table that shows a boat being moved by someone to let the viewer no where they're going. The first time they do this, it shows the boat coming from the Atlantic Ocean, across America. They were in california already!
